Trackside Gains Thanks to Porsche Prodigy Caleb Sumich - New Lap Record
Share
We’re always striving for improvement every time we hit the track, and at the last WA Production Car Championship round, we found it — in a big way — thanks to some invaluable insight and coaching from none other than West Aussie motorsport rising star, Caleb Sumich.
Fresh from making waves internationally and continuing his charge toward the top tiers of GT and Porsche Carrera Cup competition, Caleb took the time to work with our team over the race weekend. Despite his own busy schedule, he generously shared his knowledge and experience, giving us practical feedback that paid off immediately.
With Caleb’s help, we picked up over a second a lap taking the WA Production car Lap Record down to 1.03.663 That’s no small feat in production car racing — where every tenth matters, and setup and driving refinement can make the difference between the midfield and a podium shot.
From braking zones to throttle application, race lines to mindset, Caleb’s input helped sharpen our approach. His ability to translate elite-level concepts into accessible advice is what sets him apart — not just as a driver, but as a coach and mentor.
If you haven’t already seen it, check out the recent PerthNow article that gives a glimpse into Caleb’s journey and what lies ahead for him. It's no surprise he's catching the attention of the motorsport world — and we’re incredibly grateful to have had him in our corner for a weekend.
Thank you, Caleb, for your support and your time — and for helping us find another gear.
We'll be back at the next round with more confidence, more pace, and more appreciation for the people behind the scenes who help make it all possible.
